In accordance with USDA regulations, guests are
registered in order to receive food boxes.
Before distribution, tons of food is inventoried and laid out in Bush Elementary's cafeteria.
We begin assembling the food boxes at 10:30
am. and finish around noon. Over the last three years, we have been
able to minister to over 4,600 families or 19,000 people.
At Thanksgiving, members of the church family
purchase turkeys in order to supplement the food we purchase from
the county food bank grocers put the birds on sale and we
call it turkey season.
SCHOOL SUPPLY
FAIR
After registering,
guest's line up for the supply distribution. We have
given away over 2,700 sets of supplies.
A fair atmosphere is
created in order to make certain that our guests
feel welcome. During the fair we seek opportunities
to share the gospel message.
We provide hot dogs, soda, potato
chips, and cotton candy for free.
Since not every student needs a back
pack every year, we raffle off 80 to 100 back packs.
COATS FOR
KIDS
We have families sign up for coats at
our school supply fair.
At sign up, the parents are told that
the coats can be new or gently used coats.
When these coats were delivered on a
snowy day in the fall, the mother said her sons could
now go outside and play because they now have coats.
Some coats are purchased directly
from retailers when they go on sale. Many of the
coats to be used in this year's drive were purchased
last Spring.
